It is the process of retrieving files and information from old or faulty computers. Sometimes the information and documents contained on a computer is more valuable than the computer itself. The data is often irreplaceable or would be time consuming and expensive to recreate.

This is not just confined to businesses. Even home computers contain valuable data like college thesis, letters, accounts, email correspondence, email addresses, passwords, photographs, music and other documents you created during the life of the computer.

Why would I need this service?

Hard drive corruption: If your computer won't start due to corrupted files or virus infection, often the only way to get your computer up and running again is to format your hard drive (wipe it clean) and reinstall Windows and other software. The formatting procedure will erase all the data on the hard drive. However, your information and documents can be recovered prior to formatting and reinstated once the computer is back up and running.

Hard drive failure: Hard drives can fail for any number of reasons but the most common causes are surface errors and bad sectors on the drive. If the drive develops these kind of errors it may cease to function and need to be replaced. If this happens your data can be recovered from your old hard drive and transferred to your new one.

New computer: If you purchased a new computer you can have your files and settings transferred from your old one.

The recovered data can be saved on a CD/DVD, transferred onto a new hard drive or computer or both.

What will I do for you?

1. Assess your hard drive to see if recovery is possible (Free).
2. Contact you with your options and an estimate of the cost of recovery.
3. Complete the recovery process if instructed to do so.

 

No repair work is carried without first informing you of the cost. This includes any other faults which may be found while repairing the initial problem. The cost of any new parts which may be required for the repair will be included in the estimate given. If new parts are required only top quality, brand new parts will be used.

You will be informed of the cost of repair before any work is carried so there will be no surprises. There is no charge for diagnostics, so if the computer is uneconomical to repair or is unrepairable, there is no charge.
